Lower Ganges Road Transportation Plan

Location: Salt Spring Island

Project: Comprehensive development of safe and efficient traffic flow in the Lower Ganges Road area including shared paths, cycling lanes, walkways and improved intersections.

Challenges: The site was inundated with competing pedestrian and cyclist traffic and had become dangerous. The Salt Spring Island Transportation Commission held numerous open houses to get public input on a solution. JEA contributed civil engineering expertise and collaborated with traffic engineers and environmental consultants to ensure land use sustainability. JEA also provided procurement consulting and will oversee the implementation of specifications, budget and timelines to complete this project.
